The fig tree in the neighbours garden has been attracting Fruit Bats - Grey Headed Flying Foxes. These bats have a wing-span of over 1 m and tend to be very noisy, rather bad tempered, a bit on the smelly side and very bad (and I do mean bad) for the paint-work on your car. (It must be all the fruit!)
While watching them I noticed that the moon was doing rather interesting things to the clouds - so, setting the ISO on the camera to high - I was basically photographing in the pitch black - I took some pictures. Tried to do the "bat and moon" thing, but could not manage a really good effort - however the forth picture here does have a bat in it! (If only just!)
I like the way the clouds seem to boil out from the moon.

Nice capture, Stewart. Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
The sky shots are dramatic. Boiling over is a great description. I can see the bat in the last photo!
Nice shots!!
cheers from Uruguay :)
Oh, I do agree! Boiling over is a great description and I, too, can see the bat in the last shot! Very dramatic captures and well done, Stewart! Enjoy your weekend!

Beautiful shots, I love how the moon lights up all the clouds.
Beautiful moon shots! Wow. Aren't night skies lovely so often! Mickie

Love the clouds!
I think the second one is my favorite!
Carletta's Captures
You also have some splendid shots, I really like shot 1, "unreal colours' and my favourite; power lines.
Wonderful variety of sky textures! Especially love the first and third photos with the rumble of cloud colour round the moon!
I love your moon shots in the boiling clouds, especially the one with the bat. It's very hard to capture bats in flight so I think you deserve a pat on the back ;-)
ohhh I love when the moon and clouds work together like that - makes for such a brilliant looking image. Glad you got some photos, very nice!
