Jelly on the beach

A few weeks back I took a walk on the beach near Point Cook, west of Melbourne.

The beach here is part of the bay on which Melbourne sits - Port Philip Bay - rather than the open sea.  There were a few large jelly fish washed up on the beach.

I looks pretty empty for a place less than an hours drive from Melbourne's CBD!

You can find more pictures from around the world at Our World Tuesday.

Beautiful panorama photo, Stewart.
Indeed, these are big jellyfish.
I hope to come back on Wednesday with the gallery.

That's a common enough sight around these parts, too. :)

Wow! That's pretty impressive. Here in Iowa there's definitely no chance of seeing jellyfish.

Whoa - that's quite a find! I suppose you steer clear of them, even when they're beached.

We get jellyfish die-offs in S. CA, but they are usually little guys!

Hello Stewart!:) Have been back blogging for a few days, but it takes a long time to catch up as you know.

That is one enormous Jellyfish! I was once stung by a Portuguese Man of War,---definately not funny.:( See you tomorrow!

Quiet beaches are my favorite kind . I see the jelly and I won't step on it!

That's a lot of jelly! Now all you need is some toast!

Love the jellyfish! We used to see Man-o-War on the beach when I was a child, in Hawaii and Midway. This big one looks like that.
