Cactus Leaf Vandalism

There are times when I really just don't get it - and the it in this case was writing your name and (presumably) initials on the leaf of a cactus / succulent plant in the Royal Botanic Gardens.

I don't know if the initials caught my eye, but I found myself feeling rather cross!

Having said that, it does make a rather interesting sort of image.

  1. Defacing the cactus in a garden is tasteless, I can't even figure out what it means. South USA? I suppose if someone owned such a cactus and was an artist they could achieve something pretty, maybe.

  2. I would be cross too! I really don't understand why people do vandalism .. On a plant that too.

  3. People do not think before they act.. Very sad!

  4. Reminds me of this little poem from my childhood:
Fool's names like monkey faces alway appear in public places.

  5. Amazing what people can do.
    People do not think.
This is not good for the cactus.

  6. Sadly some people think only of themselves. A senseless act of vandalism. I'd be cross too.

  13. There seems to be no special code for this... just maybe a name that wants to be publicised for whatever reason. To do this on a cactus plant I find appalling. Hope the cactus spiked a bit of revenge.

  14. It is an interesting image, but so cruel to carve into a living thing. Thanks so much for sharing the love up-close with I Heart Macro ♥

  15. That is horrible. Just seeing it in a picture makes me more than cross. I cannot understand senseless vandalism at all ever. And to brag about it is nauseating.
