Kew Tram Depot

Kew Tram depot is an important part of Melbourne's tram network - and it was opened 100 years ago today (today being Sunday!).

As ever I was drawn to some of the small details of the trams and the surroundings.  I would have liked to get into the engineering sections of the depot, but they were off limits.

  4. I like the restaurant car emblem. I am hoping that emu and kangaroo were not on the menu! It is interesting that a tram had a restaurant car as here a tram is a city transport that only had passenger cars.

  8. It's always nice to see the old trains and memorabilia. I still remember fondly my trip so long ago on the open sided train from Cairns to Kuranda.
