Wild Bird Wednesday 246 - Australasian Gannet or Tākapu (Part 2)

A couple of weeks ago I posted some images of a Australasian Gannet or Tākapu colony.

This week I am just going to post some closer images of the birds, including a pair bonding (I assume this is what it is) at a nest site.  No more text this week, just pictures!

As ever, to join in with WBW just click on the blue button below.

In a neat bit of number symmetry - this is WBW 246 and 1101 for my Photo-Gallery!

Gentle and tender ... sets a great example for others. These are beautiful pictures and are you lucky to be privy to these moments in their lives. Loved your signs in India too ... brought a smile to my face. Hope all is well. Are you moving into fall now as we are moving (finally) into Spring. A few days of warm and then more days of cold. Summer isn't my favorite time, but at least you can count on it being some kind of warm:) Be well, Stewart :)

They look so much like our own Northern Gannet that I think I need to read up your Australian version.

The Gannets are so beautiful and graceful. They remind me of when I visited a breeding colony in Newfoundland when I was researching my family history.
