The sky above you (SkyWatch Friday)

Another in my occasional series of sky shots with no sky! Aim of the game is to make it clear what the sky is doing without really showing the sky.

So on a bright and sunny day in the Grampians I found this shadow on a stump – not a cloud in the sky, not a flaw in the shadow.

Hope you like it.

You can find pictures which probably contain the sky at SkyWatch Friday.

You can see the most recent post to my other blog by clicking on the Paying Ready Attention image on the RHS of the page.

Enjoy the skies!

  8. Super shadow Stuart. How about linking it with Shadow Shot Sunday at Hey Harriet, you can find the link on my sidebar.

Hope you sustained no damage from the storm.

    Happy days . . .

  9. That is a great shot, and quite unusual, since most reflective shots are taken with water or glass involved. It is so sharp and clear. Beautiful.

  17. Hello Stewart M,
I was visiting Kel's SWF and was intrigued by the words you wrote in the note you left, so came to Visit...

That is an astonishing photo... I have seen the Sky reflected in Water but never on a Stump...

Personally feel it is a wonderful contribution to SkyWatch Friday... encourages one to look about one to see the wonders of Sky's reflections.

    Beautiful.

  21. Also it reminds me of a lesson I learned in Kindergarten when I painted a thin blue line across the top of my drawing of a house and the teacher said: the sky is everywhere, we live in the sky, it isn't just up abovr us." I was quite confused for a little while ;>)
