I went out to collect the morning paper (mourning paper?) and found this dandelion on my front lawn. It's simple colour and texture lifted my gloom. Even in the face of disappointment, there is still beauty.

Stewart I would love seeing a dandelion right now, but since we are heading in our Autumn season,it will be next spring before that happens!!

Ah, Stewart. There’s an apocryphal story about General Macarthur being asked who he thought would win the Korean war (oops, ‘conflict’), and he’s supposed to have indicated the local people around him and replied: “I don’t know, but these poor bastards have certainly lost it.”

The barbarians are in the mortgage-belt marginal seats, and they’re deciding the country’s ‘aspirations’ and morality.

ReplyDeleteAt least your campaigns are short. Dang...even when the person I vote for wins (as happened the last 2 elections here) I get sick of the long long campaign season. I wish we could take a lesson from your country on that. But I'm sorry you were disappointed..If I correctly understood what I read about the parties, I would have been disappointed too if I lived there.

ReplyDeleteI'm sad that my government that I thought was by the people for the people doesn't stop atrocities like Mon - santo. Yellow is such a cheery color, and the bees sure love them. I like the little curlicued stamens.
