Wild Bird Wednesday 64 - A collection.

Its not been a bad week for my self esteem!  A while ago I reconnected with a friend I had worked with back in the UK.  It turns out he earns part of his living now as a photographer and he invited me to show a selection of images (in digital form) at an exhibition at his gallery.  To say I was pleased to do so was an understatement.

As I know I have a busy week ahead of me I decided to post the same set of images to WBW.

Hope you enjoy them.

Pied Oystercatcher
Australian Gannet
Australian Magpie

Laughing Kookaburra
Dusky Moorhen
Red-Headed Avocet
Shy Albatross
Green Rosella

Banded Stilts
Black Swan
Western Bowerbird
Red-Tailed Black Cockatoo
Now it's your turn - and I hope you forgive me the indulgence of these pictures!
Click on the link below and off you go.

  5. Well I feel like I am witnessing your coming out ... it is about time you broke out into the real world with your photography. Your pictures, all of them are astounding ... each piece captures something of the particular essence of the birds. Some of these I remember and am still moved by them. Congratulations ... what fun to meet an old friend and have it bloom into something special for both of you. It couldn't happen to a nicer guy :)

  17. Good show on the invitation to display your magnificent images!

These are all superb, Stewart! Some have that "oil painting" appearance characteristic of true artists (that would be YOU).

We all appreciate your continuing to host a forum for us "wanna be" types!

Hope your week continues to be spectacular!

  30. Most of us can thank blogging for the improvement of our photographic skills. Glad to see that you have been offered an opportunity to show them to a larger audience. The fact that your work is conducive to seeing more birds than most, is an added bonus for your artistic endeavours.
