Uhm, we don't have any of these in NoVa. I'd have to check, but they almost certainly would violate some kind of zoning laws. :-)

You don't often see them here anymore either. When you do, it's a partial one on an old abandoned farmstead. I love them.

I like the old windmills like that! We don't have them in Kentucky, but they're more predominant in the western US.
Neat! When we see one here in Virginia, it's usually preserved for decoration more than for it's use.
