Lord Howe Island Humour

Saw this during a walk on Lord Howe - made me laugh.  Although it seems to assume that all travel will be in one direction in the end!

Busy, busy, busy - so will get back to blog land when I can.  SM

  1. I wonder if the arrow points in different directions depending upon who is reading the sign. Thankfully it's pointing up for me. That means I'll meet Corky and Murphy and Gracie, and Prince, and oh...the grandparents...again.

Guess nobody arrives with the supply boat anymore - or leaves that way! This is a 'new' sign since ever I was on LHI... In fact, there were no road signs of this nature 30 years ago!!! YAM xx

  11. Have you ever heard this old poem?

    (Voice from the grave)
As you are now, so once was I.
As I am now, so you will be.
Prepare for death, and follow me.

    (Living person)
To follow you, I am not content
Until I know which way you went!

  12. Three cheers for Lea ... she hit it on the nose. This is a very LOL suggestive sign. I wonder what the maker of the sign had in mind :) Good one, Stewart. I would probably have just walked by it without realizing the implication, Ha! Maybe that's because I am getting too close to the upwards direction.

  14. I like the sign, but the mom feeding her baby is absolutely precious. Your being able to bring us such close up and detained captures means so much to one like me who so little about the birding world. Thank you for all the wonderful pictures and explanations you bring me.

  16. WOW I am thrilled that you did not go with the group on this one...these images are so beautiful. I love seeing the mom feeding her young and the intricate detail of the nests are interesting as well. Thank you for everything that you do for us and have a great rest of your week
