During my trip to Orkney I was struck by how green the islands were, and how you could never escape the sea. This is what I was trying to 'talk' about in these pictures.
It's not just the green of the Islands but the blue of the sea that strikes me. And yes Stewart I would love to have been in Rio experiencing the Olympics once more. I am so obsessed that I have been staying up to ridiculous hours watching the sport not just on the TV but online as well so I don't miss out!
I think I could be happy there for quite a while, but we had friends who lived on Guam for a few years and she said it made her stir crazy to know she couldn't go anywhere that wasn't the Island. In the West US we are used to big spaces.... but I love the coast so much that i think it would be fun to try.
What a beautiful little hamlet!!! I agree about the green. I'm always amazed when I go somewhere where green is the norm! California's new slogan is "Brown is the new Green." I'm used to brown mountains, but with the drought, we've all had to cut back on watering, with many just letting their yards brown out. It's not pretty. Some have opted for drought tolerant landscaping, but it's certainly not what I grew up with in our community!

Looks like the perfect spot but not warm enough for me. I have gone no further than John O'Groats. Have a good day Diane
