Wild Bird Wednesday 403 - Galah

I thought I would go with some bright and simple images this week.

This is a Galah (Eolophus roseicapilla) that was enjoying the early morning sunlight at the Desert Park in Alice Springs.

I was struck by the simplicity of the whole scene.  And it reinforces my idea that even the most abundant of birds should not be overlooked.  Especially in good light!

I adore the Galah, such a fine and funny bird! A lovely cheerful one to watch. Hope you are all coping well down under; the restrictions here are likely to be extended and quite a few folk are beginning to fray... (that may or may not include yours truly). YAM xx

  13. Reading the name "Galah", I immediately thought of something unattractive (because of Gollum from "Lord of the Rings" I think) yet when I scrolled down to see, there was a stunning, beauty!...:)jp

  14. Yes they are such common birds but sometimes when I do stop to look at them properly I'm amazed by how lovely and pink they really are! Great photos :)
