Wild Bird Wednesday 473 - King Parrot

Hi there - still in lockdown here, in fact it has been extended until at least 2nd September.

So, these are King Parrots (Alisterus scapularis) a wonderfully colourful parrot found down much of the east coast of Australia.  These pictures were taken a long, long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away. Or more accurately, near Lorne in Victoria in 2019 - which amounts to the same thing at present!

  1. A beautiful Parrot Stewart. WOW Lockdown until at least 2 September. Didn't expect that. Mind you in N I it is not good 3 more deaths today and over 1500 new cases and many more in hospital since yesterday and they are lifting restrictions!!. Where will this all end? Anyhow thanks for hosting, stay safe and have a good week ahead

  2. Such a striking contrast between its colors. So far we are not back in lockdown and politically itwill not happen even though our state is the worst and our county is 3rd in the nation for new COVID cases. Now hoping the booster shots will soon be available as I was on Prednisone when vaccinated back in January and this drug suppresses immunity, leaving me to wonder if my vaccine "took."
