Cant help but think about the people of the Philippines today - we can talk about beauty, but there is also violence in nature. Its not malicious violence, but it's violence none the less.
This picture clearly does not show anything really destructive - but it feels a little more appropriate today.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful scene and photo, Stewart. It seems lately the weather has been violent. My prayers go out to the people of the Philippines. Enjoy your week ahead!
Yes nature can be beautiful and incredibly violent at the same time. My thoughts are with those in the Philippines...
ReplyDeleteSo true ~ Mother Nature is to be respected ~ Great shot ~ thanks for visiting also ~ carol, xxx
ReplyDeletetruly a tragic event.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice evening!
If I were young again it would be fun to stand beneath the spray of that wave. No interest in doing that now.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful, awesome photo, Stewart!! I'd rather not get caught in some of the storms I've been reading about, but this proved there is even beauty in storms! Have a great week!
ReplyDeletehow right you are, we watched an in depth report last evening, it is difficult to imagine even after watching the footage. This is a lovely no beautiful photo.
ReplyDeleteHI Stewart Yes the dvastation in the Philippines is terribe. Nature will have her way.
ReplyDeleteyes Stewart, Mother Nature and her wrath has caused such tragedy and losses
ReplyDeleteNow that is my kind of shot. The nature surrounded by the motion. Great image. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteSuper photo! That's an impressive wave!
ReplyDeleteAll over the globe we're seeing nature having her way. Lots of similar events here in the US as well. Poor New Jersey had a super storm a few months ago. Then when its Boardwalk was ready for summer, a huge fire demolished what had been accomplished in rebuilding the boardwalk.
ReplyDeleteYet another devastating tragedy. You are so right. Whilst we love to capture that strong wind whipping up the waves we have no idea how it is for others and the suffering they are presently going through.
ReplyDeleteThe devastation is almost unbelievable .. thank you for honoring the people of the Philippines with your picture and well-chosen words.
ReplyDeleteHallo Stewart!
ReplyDeleteI saw on TV about the Philippines.
So sad.Beautiful picture!
Have a nice day!
Dimi...
your photo is so appropriate Stewart… been praying for the survivors and rescue workers… made a donation… praying, praying for healing over time.
ReplyDeleteOne feels so helpless when you see the suffering and pleas for help. I'm intrigued by the wave you caught and the great calmness of the rest of the sea around.
ReplyDeleteWow! Great shot! Thats pretty high!
ReplyDeleteAn amazing shot showing the power of nature.
ReplyDeleteMy heart goes out to those in the wake of the terrible hurricane
Well spotted Stewart - good anticipation or reaction! Joining others in compassionate prayer for those in the midst of the terror.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shot and strange in that the rest of the sea looks so calm and tranquil. Nature's violence can be unexpected!
ReplyDeleteAmazing picture! Looks like an explosion! I am also reminded of fisherman being washed from rocks.
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to picture where on the Island this is! It's good to know there are more places to explore!
Great shot, Stewart, and thoughtful post.
ReplyDeleteWishing you gentle winds as you go about your day.
It is my island. Philippines.
ReplyDeleteThe country is consisted of
7107 islands and islets.
