A Ring Rabbit on a rainy day.

Rain. Sunday.  Plans down the drain.

So, my first attempt at focus stacking with photoshop and macro.  I don't think this is too bad for a first try - four shots, each focused on different planes, merged to form one image.  It's a wee bit slow - I can only work out how to do it one pair of images at a time - but it passes the hours while I wait for the rain to stop.

In case you are wondering - this ring rabbit is where S hangs here rings at night.

You can find more macro shots at Macro Monday2 and I Heart Macro.

  1. Wow cool image. It does not look like it could even be four shots merged.. Well done..

  2. Okay ... Focus Stacking? Where are the stacks? And, how and why do you stack? This is the first time I have heard of it and you have tweaked my curiosity. All of that said, the Rabbit is awesome and how nice that S has such a cute place to put her rings. I never take my rings off so, no ring rabbit at my house. Very fun, Stewart and I hope you have time to explain ... I am really interested.

  7. Good for you Stewart. I tried focus stacking on some mushrooms. I couldn't figure out the process. I haven't tried since. Maybe my photo program isn't correct for that task.

wonderful depth gained from this Stewart! My newbie (the Fudge), has got a function for stacking on one of its (ridiculously) many dial options - am a long way off experimenting with it yet though! YAM xx

  10. I have never heard of focus stacking. One of these days, I'm going to have to break down and buy (or rent) PS for a while to see how I like it.

  11. The rabbit is so cool, quintessential silver. The rings look uncomfortable to sleep in, so it's nice S can trust her rings to the rabbit's care. I can't detect the stacking either.

  12. Cute little rabbit. I don't do much editing so this is way over my head.
