A evening at The G

The Melbourne Cricket Ground, often shorted to The M.C.G and then further curtailed to "The G" is one of the best sporting grounds in the world - although reader from Sydney may disagree!

H and I went there to watch a 20/20 cricket match this Wednesday - and we were joined by about 32,000 other Melburnians. The match itself was a bit of a fizzer really, but as a 'boys night out' we had a blast!

These are a few a phone shots I took during the night.  I rather like the caged sky shots - wished I had had a more adjustable camera!

You can find more sky shots (and probably less people) at Sky Watch Friday.  SM

  7. My goodness hats a big crowd! I like the cage effect and father-son outings are so important and fun ( or so I have been told by my sons and their father)!

  12. That stadium looks fantastic! Our oldest three and a nephew had a boys trip west to the Dakotas pheasant hunting the last/first days of the year.. I'm reminded of that because when they returned from the west, our nephew was picked up in the morning to travel across the state to our east for a stadium football game, kind of a big deal, but much colder than your stadium looks. (They were at Lambough Field in Wisconsin.) I've yet to experience either an NFL game OR a cricket match. :) Happy New Year, Stewart!

  17. I like that first caged sky shot! The round "cage" brings interest as it's an unusual shape!
