such heavy-bodied birds to attain flight. :)
Pelicans are fun birds to photograph. I used to have plenty around when I lived on the central coast of NSW - the pelican feeding at The Entrance is a must-see.
Indeed. It's amazing how these birds attain flight. Quick fingers to capture these beautiful shots while the birds are flying.Have a good weekend!AlexanderAlex's World! - http://alex.kakinan.com
Mr. and Mrs Pelican look to be flying in perfect formation. They are so big. It is amazing how they can fly. Their bills are so impressive.
They look graceful in flight, but I'll bet they expend a lot of energy to get off the ground!
Nice captures of the pelicans in flight!
They look so great. Wonderful photos.
You would think their beaks would make them top heavy but in fact they seem perfectly balanced. Nature has its way. Have a good weekend Diane
The pelicans in Australia seemed so much bigger than others I had seen. I am never ceased to be amazed at the wonders of the natural world. I can't work out how to get a paper aeroplane to fly!
Love the pelicans in flight, great captures. Happy Friday, enjoy your weekend!
Great captures Stewart!:) These miniture Jumbo jets must have great strength in their wings. I wish I could see them taking off.
Beautiful!Have a great week-end!Lea
I used to have such VIVID dreams about flying. Haven't had one in a long time, but my eyes still follow the birds with envy.
I too find the Pelican's ability to fly quite remarkable!
Lovely shots Stewart..They are huge birds..I guess their wings are strong and big enough to do the job!!! Have a wonderful weekend.
These are so gorgeous!
Great captures! We sometimes have pelicans stop on a nearby marsh when they are migrating. Amazing birds to see.
Nice photos! I love watching pelicans soar just above the water. They have a pretty large wingspan which must help keep all that size in the air.
