An indoor rainbow ....

I have not posted a no sky sky for a while so here is one.

We have had some bright weather over the last few days - and when the sky is clear and the Sun is low in the sky we get natural rainbows indoors.  I think we get so many bands of colour because of the number of small panes of glass in the window.

I have to say I do rather like refraction - oh the wonders of basic science.

You can find more skies at Sky Watch Friday.

  1. D you happen to have the old poured rather than rolled glass? I have prism hanging in my windows and have shifting rainbows all over my room.
    I love the ripple effect.

  2. Isn't science clever. I know the theory but I don't understand it, I just stand back in admiration.

  3. Wonderful. I have a crystal lamp that throws out wonderful pattern of colour and I have to say I have never thought of photographing it. I will now. Thanks. Margaret

  7. Cool capture of the rainbow! My hubby loves to watch the rainbows we have in our basement, just enough light shining on a crystal lamp. Happy Skywatching!
