I really cant explain how much fun I had when we went dog-sledging! It was just really great.
The trip was only a couple of hours, and much of it was in darkness - it was 2.30 pm after all - and I was just sitting on the sledge for much of the ride. But it was a real blast!
Taking pictures of fast moving objects in the dark is a bit of a challenge - but what the heck!
If you get to Tromso, I would recommend that you go dog-sledging!

Hello Stewart,
ReplyDeletedog sledging is possible in the Finnish Lapland too.
Everyone is welcome! :)
All the best.
That looks like great fun. Would love to have a go in the not too distant future.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful dogs, and they look like they are having as much fun as the people!
ReplyDeleteI checked my calendar and Tromso is not on the schedule in the immediate future. I will be visiting a place called Melbourne, however. I doubt that they have dog sledding there, but parrots in the backyard seems like an acceptable alternative to me. Having shovelled about 15cm of snow from my driveway and sidewalk it sounds like a very appealing destination, in fact!

Pozdrowienia z Polski!(+5 Cd.)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great photos of dog sledding. We are going to Alaska and I will make sure we do the dog sledding excursion there, but we will be there in August so probably no snow, but we can still enjoy seeing the dogs, I think they do a summer version without snow.
ReplyDeleteI bet you DID have fun - what a cool experience!

ReplyDeleteThat looks amazing!!
ReplyDeleteI only see dog sledding on documentaries and I'm always amazed by it! I would love to experience that someday especially I love dogs (although I have read that sledding dogs aren't usually petted because they are serious dogs but I would looove to hug them!)
