Canola Skies

Canola (oil seed) may not be popular with some people, but it brings colour in a way that few other crops can compete with.

Took this photograph in the Grampians, west of Melbourne. Was drawn to the 3 fold division of land, plants and sky. Hope you like it!

    I love the yellow fields of canola below such gorgeous skies! I think it's really interesting that there have been two fields of canola on Sky Watch today! I love it -- I've never seen it growing before! One of the wonderful things about seeing photos from around the world! Have a great weekend!

    Canola is such a cheerful colour! I like the contrast between the blue sky with its puffy white clouds, and the solid earth!

    I like the yellow the canola adds to the landscape. I can see a field of yellow canola at the CDR in the late summer. In a somewhat barren landscape, both in color and foliage, it's a welcome bright spot. This is a wonderful photo, Stewart.

    Beautiful contrast between the bright yellow and the blue sky. Wildflowers still await us here in the northern hemisphere.
    As to photographing Yosemite, it is not only Ansel Adams but Galen Rowell whose photographs I try to replicate. I realize that both of them spent years and untold rolls of film gathering their iconic images.
