Fire in the Sky (Sky Watch Friday)

Welcome to my first Sky Watch Friday post.

Was walking home from work last years and looked over my shoulder to find this happening in the sky behind me!

I still think this is one of the most remarkable skies I have seen.

Hope you enjoy them!

You can find more sky pictures at Skywatch Friday.

You can find more of my pictures and words at my other blog

  1. Stewart, these are totally breathtaking! Such dramatic colors and cloud formations! We get pretty amazing skies here in Seattle, but I've never seen any quite like these! Superb captures! Thanks for sharing them with us! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

  7. It most certainly is!
Unique I shouldn't wonder, to your continent.
I'm reading Bill Bryson's "Down Under", well more devouring than just reading. He describes those sunsets. And tells of people who settle in certain bush areas purely for the sunsets.
Looking forward to getting to see more of those from you now that you have joined the SWF group.

  10. Thanks for all the comments.

Hard to believe that the shots were taken in a suburban street as I was walking home from work!

    But that's the truth!
