Camberwell Market 1

For a bit of a change we headed off for breakfast and a look around the Sunday Market that is held in Camberwell. The market is run by Rotary and is a major fund raiser - $9,000,000 since it started in 1976!

I  understand that one man's trash may be another mans treasure, but I did have to laugh at some of the things offered for sale.  Single shoes and rusted solid fishing reels being two of the better examples.  another thing that surprise me were the number of cameras - all film and many no doubt the pride of somebodies hobby a few years ago.  There was also a stall that had boxes of Kodak Super 8 film - with a use by date of 1988!

Of course I thought I would be doing some form of street photography - but a number of other things cough my eye. As ever!

Here they are.

You can find more close up type shots - and probably fewer pink leather hippos - at Macro Monday 2 and I love Macro.

  1. Sounds like yet another sequel of Toy Story is due. Let's see, which one would this be? TS 4? TS 5?

  5. Love the toys and all the colors. Why would anyone want one shoe? Legos are fun, they should be popular. Great shots, have a happy day!

  6. I'm going to our flea market this morning. You've inspired me to look at it differently here. I saw a photography piece awhile back where the photographer took this long expired film, Polaroid I believe, used it and got some interesting images from it.

  11. Boy does this look familier ... we used to go to a monthly antique fair that was loaded with everything and occasionally a good find if you were an antique collector. Looks to me like you are having too much fun here. Looks like a lot of boys toys ... hmmmmm. Anyway great, colorful shots, Stewart. Quite a change for you ... and fun to say the least.

  14. Some colour captured here Stewart.... on a similar story, a few summers ago my partner and I challenged each other to make a profit by spending £30 at a Sunday morning car boot sale and then selling the items on e-bay to see who made the most. It was a bit of fun and we both made a profit although we couldn't shift a few of the items at all!!

  16. Love the little hippo :)
I hope some of these toys ended up in other homes. Ever since I was a kid, I felt sorry for abandoned toys. Yup, you bet I love the Toy story movies :)

  17. How fun and different.. I do think that is the first time I've seen pink hippo macros. In fact it may be the first time I've seen pink hippos.
