We live in strange times.
This is a White-bellied Sea Eagle (Haliaeetus leucogaster), resting in a tree in the Yellow Waters area of Kakadu National Park in the Northern Territory.
What a remarkable bird. With a wing span around 2 meters, and larger in the females, this is not a bird to be messed with.

This bird was just sitting in its tree, waiting for its dinner to make a mistake! Unfortunately, we left before it sat down to a meal.

Great shots of the White-bellied Sea Eagle. The last one I saw was in Tasmania. i have tried four times to add a picture to WBW. I log in and the link opens up but when I try to post the image it tells me that I have logged out. I will try again later.
ReplyDeleteMagnificent raptor! These are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThe imperial stare alone would keep me from messing with that Eagle, let alone the size and wingspan. (That and the fact that I wouldn’t mess with any bird ever, of course)). Handsome fellow he is. ...we sure are living in interesting times. Which I think is a curse, not a blessing. Best of health to you and your family. Be safe.
ReplyDeleteFabulous photos, I do love the birds of prey.
ReplyDeleteWe are in complete lockdown here even need to have a form to clear us with police if we go to buy food. Only places open are bank, chemist, hospital and supermarket at limited times. Only a few people allowed in at a time.
Stay safe Diane
