Wells in Somerset is a smallish market town near to where I was born. The Cathedral sits more or less at the centre of the town. It's hard to believe that such a building was part of my everyday (or at least everyweek) childhood.
This is Basil. He is not the Cathedral Cat - but he has taken up semi-permanent residence in the visitor centre.

ReplyDeleteAstounding craftsmanship - I really can't imagine any of our modern buildings ever lasting that length of time - or emanating such ambience even from images... YAM xx
Beautiful cathedral, with the stairs. And Basil. Have a nice weekend !
ReplyDeleteAn amazing and interesting structure. Basil knows how to pick an upscale residence.
ReplyDeleteMagnificent cathedral! I love that you included Basil!

DeleteYou have taken some great photos here, well done. Interesting that you were born nearby. I was born in Lilliput, Poole but lived mostly near Bath in my early days. Cheers Diane
ReplyDeleteI was born near Midsomer Norton! Bath was the place I shopped when you could not get things in Wells! SM
DeleteAmazing architecture!
ReplyDeleteI have not been to Wells but it is on my list. I think there is the Museum of stained glass at the cathedral but I might be wrong about that.
