Heavy rain - and more importantly lightning - put a stop to that. Two hours later we took off!
Why does two hours not seem that long when I have something important to do!
I hope you find your skies to be more cooperative!
You can find more skies of all types here at Sky Watch Friday.
I love dark, scary clouds ... I don't like what they usually mean, but they are so awesome and interesting. I'm glad you were able to get where you were going. Hoping, maybe, that you will have a chance to go birding while you are there. Our skies have been dark for days ... cold, windy and rainy. Still looking forward to Spring ... hmmmm. Have a great week, Stewart.

Time's relative!
ReplyDeleteLove the rainy skies.
Not good for flying, but makes for a great shot!
ReplyDeleteNo, definitely not the best skies to encourage flying, but what a dramatic scene they provided you and your camera!! Terrific capture for the day, Stewart!! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteOh Stewart you need to be back over here cos it seems to me you are really missing the unpredictability of the weather. Hope the delay didn't spoil the trip.
ReplyDeleteIronic that I just posted about rain today!! I hope the skies clear up for you mate.
ReplyDeletelove the broodiness of that sky, but glad you were safely grounded!
ReplyDeleteYikes! I wouldn't have wanted to be on that plane!
ReplyDeleteTime really is relative! We really can't argue with the pilots though..there are way worse things than being delayed.
ReplyDeleteHi Stewart!Typical Melbounres weather!Always raining!!Great shot!!!Hope you had a safe trip to Perth!Have a lovely day!
ReplyDeleteDimi..
Now that is an angry sky! Nice moody photo. Better to wait out the storm than get knocked around by it...
ReplyDeleteThank you for the photo!
That's a fantastic shot with the sky in the background!
ReplyDeleteI would definitely say this is a delaying sky. Your capture is amazing. Fine photography. genie
ReplyDeleteI just had a bad experience today with a thunderstorm. Sigh. Those clouds of yours look pretty ominous. Better to wait two hours than deal with the wrath of mother nature. Safe travels to you!
ReplyDeleteLove the jet photo. My grandfather was a pilot, and I've always had a fascination with planes since I was small & flew in his two-seater with him.
ReplyDeleteSkies aren't much more cooperative here on our part of the earth.. It was a snow globe here today! No flying for me to do, but a friend of mine was delayed this morning in Minneapolis.
It is an ominous sky. Glad you had to wait to be safe. MB
ReplyDeleteLooks like sky we have had here today - over three inches of rain.
ReplyDeleteThe sky certainly sets the mood for the photo.
Happy Sky Watch Friday!

Safety first, especially at take off and landing. Nice shot Stewart. Hope you had a great time in the west.
ReplyDeleteStormy sky! wow!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shot of dark forbidding skies! Our weather improved for 24 hours then nosedived again, but the forecast is for 20C this weekend!!!! Have a great week
ReplyDeleteGreat shot! I agree anytime will do for something important. Makes me curious What is so important?
ReplyDeleteAh nothing like a good storm. They are exciting and scary at the same time, especially when the thunder is so loud and explodes all around you.
