Human technologies tend to be sharp edged, hard and dominated by straight lines. Grown objects tend to do round edged (even teeth!), softer and dominated by fluid, curved lines. I
This is what this picture is about - its a combination of those two forms of building.
I also like the colours!
You can find more close ups at Macro Monday 2 and I Love Macro.
Enjoy the pictures.
You're right - never thought of that before. I do like modern architecture with its curves.
ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely abstract shot.
In thumbnail it looked like one of my daughter's eco-prits.
ReplyDeleteIn addition to what you mention, I also love the texture. Great shot!

ReplyDeleteso true stewart... beautiful composition. Thank you for sharing the love up-close with I Heart Macro:-)
ReplyDeleteI've always been fascinated with vines that climb brick. Recently, when traveling along the Great Lakes, we stopped at an old lighthouse built of brick that was covered on one side, but the vine had been cleaned away on another side - leaving the most outstanding engraved pattern where the branches & vines had sprawled.
ReplyDeleteAs often happens for me, I take so many photos on a trip, they fall to the back burner. But I plan to get back to sharing more from that journey.
Great photo & observing eye, here.
I like this too Stewart... Michelle
ReplyDeleteI love to see vines climbing brick walls.
ReplyDeleteGreat juxtaposition - and I rather like the colours too.
ReplyDeleteYou're a deep thinker Stewart and have opened my mind to what I see in your photo.

Lea's Menagerie
yes indeed; I like the colours too and would be interesting to see when the vine is in leaf or flower
ReplyDeleteNice study of the two. Very pleasing to the eye.
ReplyDeleteA photographer after my own heart! I love the justaposition of man-made with natural too, so long as the man-made isn't brutally new. Your brick wall with its climber is perfect!
ReplyDeleteNice colours and great shot Stewart!!
ReplyDeleteDimi..
Good composition...
ReplyDeleteI agree! I love the many differences. Colors, shapes, textures, etc...
ReplyDeleteVery nice Stewart!
