On the beach

On our weekend at Flinders we went is search of a The Blowhole - a feature in a rocky coast the jets water up into the air.  I'm not convinced we found it!

However, we did find a beach with black sand - which was good to look at and very hard to photograph!  White surf, black sand and looking into the sun was all too much for my meagre brain!

So, faced with this I decided to do some macro shots instead!

You can find more macro shots at Macro Monday 2 and I love Macro

  1. I like the glistening rocks, and gritty looking sand, and softness of the seaweed.
In the second one, the bubbles are on quite journey.

  2. Those gleaming, black pebbles! I remember a perfect beach in Kalamatta that had little glistening, black spots too. Unfortunately we stepped in some on the way to the water and found it to be an oil spill! We wondered why the beach was so empty on a warm day . . .

  6. Did you swim or was it too cold for that? Do you get snow in Australia in the winter?

  8. That reminds me of a couple of beaches I've been to on the Oregon coast while on vacation a few years ago. Nice shots.

  9. I did a similar thing while at the beach, looking at the small stuff. I did three shots, a stone, feather and shell in the ebb tide. They came out so well I made prints and they now hang in our bathroom. It pays to look at the world at your feet. Your top photo I like best.
