Underwater.

I had some great snorkelling trips during the summer holidays - and as the seasons turn I hope to be able to sneak in a couple more before the water gets a bit chilly.

These are some of the better images I managed to take over the summer - I am often surprised by the quality of the images that come out of my little waterproof point and shoot.

    The "undersea" world is just a whole other dimension full of beauty and strange looking creatures and vegetation. Beautiful photos!!

    I find underwater images fascinating Stewart, I couldn't dive that's for sure but I love to see what goes on under there :)

    The clear water is beautiful, it is not seen around our Atlantic Ocean. And the stingray is cool, great captures.

    Your underwater pictures are so good. My son is going to Thailand nest week to do some diving ... he isn't as big on taking pictures as you are, but has come home with a few good ones. I love the idea of underwater photography, but I am guessing I am past the point in my life where I could pull it off. So, I'll just enjoy yours :) Thanks!

    Your underwater is sandy unlike near our area where corals and rocks abound, or maybe that layer is beyond your grassy zone. What do you mean by damaged by the ozone, I wonder why it is very localized patch!

    Lovely stingrays. One of my favorite sea creatures. There is a touch tank at a local aquarium where you can pet them, and they really seem to enjoy the interaction.

    Great shots Stewart. I love stingrays, we often got them on Elwood beach in the 50's.
    I also read your essay on snorkelling at Queenscliff and, as usual, thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks.
