Over one night we had some rather heavy rain - and by coincidence I had taken a picture of this small waterfall the day before. So, I made a second shot - not exactly from the same place, but close enough.
When you walk on the hills in Tasmania you always need a full set of weatherproof kit - these pictures show you why!
You can find more shots from around the world at Our World Tuesday. SM
Yep I can see a lot of rain fell overnight.ReplyDelete
Beautiful Stewart, the overnight rain caused that, wow.ReplyDelete
Ah... There's a place I'm familiar with. Pencil Pine Cascades. Great comparison shots. I have a similar comparative shots of the waterfall just down stream from there.ReplyDelete
What a pretty spot, the cascades are beautiful. My hubby would love this place! Happy Monday!ReplyDelete
ahhh...the gentle water is calming, eh?ReplyDelete
There is a lot of rain fall that night.ReplyDelete
That is good to see.
A very good new week, Stewart.
Best regards, Irma

The camera can't replace the naked eye although they sure are getting pretty close..Your first pic is beautiful..The second looks angry..but still lovely..Hope you had some shelter during that rain..ReplyDelete
Oh my - what a difference a day makes!! Great shots, Stewart!ReplyDelete

Great contrasting images Stewart. Tasmania is full of beautiful scenery - thank you for sharing some of it with us.ReplyDelete
The comparison photos say it all.ReplyDelete
wow!! that is so beautiful :)ReplyDelete
That's a really significant difference over a short period of time. Hope you were able to keep your camera gear dry!ReplyDelete
Both are lovely shots, but you are right, weather conditions change everything!ReplyDelete
Great pics. I've been to Australia 3 x but never to Tasmania. I didn't realize it rained a lot there.ReplyDelete
I am smiling at your description of Tasmania conditions as related to the Antarctic. And those flood waterfalls are great, in my need to assuage my need to see them i used to visit an area of our property which only have water/waterfalls during heavy rains. I even invested/lost my lens cap there. Stewart, can you visit my post? You might know the importance of the black beetles to the plants at the Black Mountains.ReplyDelete
It must rain there like it does here in Florida to make that much difference overnight. But no mountains here ergo no waterfalls. I miss them. Yours are beautiful.ReplyDelete
It is kind of like life, isn't it? One day all peaceful and calm, and then the next day chaos!ReplyDelete
Great photos, both of them.
What a wild and fascinating place...just ocean and wind between it and Antarctica! You got a fascinating comparison. I'd hate to have a little farm downstream of this!ReplyDelete
What a difference a day makes!ReplyDelete
