Wild Bird Wednesdy 480 - Kingfishers

This week Melbourne achieved the unenviable distinction of being the town that has spent the longest time in lock down as a result of you know what.  A while ago in an attempt to raise my spirits, I collated all the pictures of Kingfishers I had taken and shared them a day at a time on Facebook.  People seemed to like them, so here is the collection.

Blue Winged Kookaburra - Australia

Wonderful birds one and all.  Lets hope we are all out and about soon.

    I really enjoy kingfishers but our are plain compared to yours! That second last one is exceptionally beautiful.

    I am so pleased you included the UK one as I am a huge fan. I have seen one a few times. Well truth be known I have seen the iridescent blue flash as it speeds past. Hope you get your freedom back soon.

    What a collection! I feel deprived as we have only one local species. Did pick up two more once on a trip to south Texas.
