The Brolga (
Grus rubicunda) is one of two species of crane found in Australia. The Brolga at Werribee are experiencing a bit of a population boom, with at least 11 birds present. With a bit of luck you can find at least three different groups of birds these days.
This pair of birds was happily feeding in some mud, although I was never able to get a look at what they were eating.
(for the photographers out there, none of these images has been cropped!)
