Florence Falls

These are some shots of Florence Falls, a well known series of waterfalls in the Litchfield National Park in the Northern Territory of Australia.

There were a considerable number of steps down to the bottom of the falls, but I much preferred the view from the top.  The plunge pool at the bottom was fully of swimmers, and had the feel of a swimwear catalogue!  I felt rather out of place in long pants with a telephoto lens coated in camo neoprene!!

You can find more shots from around the world at Our World Tuesday.

Beautiful waterfall! Yes, I'd be the one in hiking gear with the camera too.

This is a lovely waterfall. I tend to agree, I would have avoided the bottom view too.

Wonderful waterfall pictures..I have never taken a picture of waterfalls..I would love to catch the droplets..Then I'd have to play with settings ;) Probably wouldn't take pictures from below either..

That is great! I love visiting waterfalls and challenged taking the slow shutter shots. Oh how i wish i can go there and visit that. Here i experienced taking a 1.5hr plane, followed by an un-airconditioned bus for 6hr, and another 2 hrs by van just to reach Tinuy-an Falls in Mindanao. That was the farthest.

In my day I'd be down there in the water playing around. Nowadays, up top just enjoying the view like you did.
