SkyWatch Friday - Big Sky / Big Mud

By the early afternoon the sky over Werribee Sewage works was putting on a bit of a cloud show.  The birds that we had banded had left the Big Mud and headed off elsewhere.

I love the scale of this picture.  The open spaces, the distance, the colour - and I suppose I find it amusing that its a sewage works!  (or, if the truth be told for this part, it used to be!).

You can find more skies (and probably less mud) at SkyWatch Friday.

Enjoy the pictures.

  1. I like your low-flying clouds. Isn't it great how the cycle goes, stinking sewage + time = bird habitat.

  4. That view reminds me of open plains outside Wagga at Coolamon - when I was on a school trip with an aboriginal guide who showed us sacred sites. Adore the title of your post!

  25. That's a beautiful sky. I know of at least two wonderful places for birding (not here) that are built at sewage/water treatment plants...great places for water birds, but some think it is hilarious to go to look for birds there.
