Sky Watch Friday - A Simple Sky

I'm trying to find new things to say about skies - or new ways to frame them.  I still take shots of sunsets and pink clouds - but I'm trying something else.

Here is a simple Australian summer sky - taken at Cape Tourville in the Freycinet National Park in Tasmania.


This was taken with my generally bomb-proof little compact.

All comments appreciated - even if you say "go back to sunsets!"

    A crisp, clear blue sky, there is nothing nicer. Funnily enough, I am looking through my albums for a photo of Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse

    The addition of the sparkling clean white lighthouse actually makes this a great photo against the gorgeous blue. It's all flat around here with no tall structures, so I seldom get a good picture of plain blue sky (I just said something about that in my latest post -- plain blue isn't very interesting picture-wise -- but it sure beats plain gray which is what we'd have if we were in Oregon this month.

    I like the pure blue background!! The oly thing I can suggest would be more sky above the lighthouse, and less of the tower, but that is my opinion...

    Reminds me of the song, "Blue skies smiling at me.. Nothing but blue skies, do I see."
    The color of a blue sky is one of my favorites. And I agree that variety is great!

    Nice shot! I just realized you are the Stewart who hosts WBW! Since it was my first time, it took me a minute! :-) Thank you for hosting such a wonderful meme. I rarely get good bird photos because I don't have a good camera, but when I get something I like to post it, and I will join in the meme again as I can. Thanks again! (And, your writing is wonderful! I thoroughly enjoyed the other post on your other blog...the wine glass imagery was disturbing but beautiful in a sense. It was all so impressive!)

    There is nothing wrong with this pic!
    Mother Nature might have been nice enough to give you a cloud or two, but no matter, it's a great sky anyway...
