I have gone back into the archives for these weeks shots - its just too hot to think about anything new!
So, to celebrate 400 posts on this blog i'll post 3 butterflies from Queensland!
Swamp Tiger |
Blue Tiger |
Chocolate Argus |
I have not have much luck with butterflies this summer - too much time with birds!
You can find more macro shots at Macro Monday.
Enjoy the close ups.
it has to do with colour of course; I love the blue tiger Stewart. I never see butterflies to photograph; only cabbage moths :(
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your 400th post. I can't think of a better way to celebrate than to look at the beauty of these butterflies.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations.
ReplyDeleteExcellent butterflies.
Love the blue and brown one. It's just the same colors that I spied out my window yesterday morning - lovely blue of the sky against the dark brown trunks of the trees. Not a green leaf in sight yet here.
ReplyDeleteHi Stewart...Wow these are beauties, especially like the blue and brown one!!
ReplyDeleteI guess any butterfly would look good as it is 28f (I have to learn Celsius) : ), and snow on the ground!!
Your's are gorgeous!!
Stay cool

Here I sit cuddled up in my robe and you're sweltering! Your butterfly shots are awesome! We don't have those in these parts, so this is a treat for my eyes. I'll be shooting butterflies this summer after I've exhausted my bird supply. Unless I can fit in some travel time. Hope you have a great week, Stewart. :)

ReplyDeleteOh your butterflies are absolutely gorgeous! I can't wait until I start seeing some here .... maybe in about 3 weeks :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on that milestone post! Very impressive. All three shots are wonderful, but I like that second butterfly best with its lovely blues. Hope you find some cooler weather. I'm stuck with winter refusing to let go!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your 400th post, Stewart! Your butterfly shots are beautiful. Winter is slow to let go here - we had a balmy 70 degrees yesterday. Now it's rainy and heading back down to the 30's.
ReplyDeleteAh, so clear! This blue tiger is certainly a gorgeous, but your first butterfly rivals in beauty!
