Bottlenosed Dolphin

While I was on a boat trip around Lord Howe Island, we had a brief visit from this Bottlenosed Dolphin.  It seemed to have a wonderful ability to be on the opposite side of the boat to me at all times, so I only got one burst of pictures.

Still, I rather like them, especially the first one.

And yes, the water really was that colour!  And there was not a cloud in the sky either!!

You can find more pictures of animals from around the world over at Saturday Critters.

  8. Isn't that always the way? Dolphin on the other side of the boat, bird behind a branch or leaf, critter behind a tree? Sending you and your family best wishes from our Thanksgiving Day. You and your blog are just two of the things I'm thankful for today.

  15. They are so beautiful and smart. What a gift to be able to spot them on your voyage to Lord Howe Island. The stunning blue color of the water tells me you had beautiful weather out there and that the water is very, very deep where you were ... simply gorgeous. This had to be a dream trip for you and will be again soon. You are blessed and since we have just celebrated Thanksgiving in the USA, I am sure you are thankful for all you have :) Beautiful series, Stewart ...

  17. You got great pictures. We see dolphins pretty often in Florida and they definitely share that one habit of yours -- always on the wrong side of the boat ;>)
