Back to Lord Howe Island this week. Red-Tailed Tropicbirds are truely remarkable - and I was glad to get a second chance to photograph them as I had had a few ideas about how to improve my shots from the first time I saw them!
These pictures were all taken on the cliffs at the north end of the island.
One day I'm going to run out of pictures from LHI - but it is not this day!
Now its your turn - click the blue button and off you go!
Yes they are!!! They are one of my favorite birds out there. I just saw one in March!!! Gorgeous birds and fantastic shots of these tricky birds from the boats.
ReplyDeletePretty, and graceful images Stewart.
ReplyDeleteThis is one species I would love to see. Beautiful contrast between the white bird, blue sky/water and red bill.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful bird and shots.. Cheers..
ReplyDeleteWhat a stunning bird. Fantastic birds.
ReplyDeleteThe clarity on these shots is nothing short of amazing. What a beautiful bird, but I am guessing it is very hard to get a good picture of that barely visible, though bright red tail. Tricky, tricky, Stewart ... I am impressed both with the bird and with your awesome captures :) So where are we on the count down ... I seem to have lost tract and I don't want to be taken by surprise on your 200th post ... a little warning, please :) Great post, Stewart and I hope you never run out of LHI pictures. Maybe you should go back :)
