Wild Bird Wednesday 362 - The Gathering

These Silver Gulls (Chroicocephalus novaehollandiae) were gathered on the wharf as we came in from the Whale Watching trip.  I rather liked the way they were lined up on the metal rails.

Just for a bit of a change, I converted one one the image to black and white - I think these pictures suit that process.

As I mentioned last week, I will be up to my eyes in work this week - but with luck I may get to see a few birds in the off work hours.  There is always hope!

As ever, you can join in with WBW by clicking on the link below - and also as ever, please feel free to share the love for WBW with other bloggers!  Cheers. SM

  1. I especially liked the monochrome version. I must try that more often as it can be very effective. Will drop by later to link up.

  2. The way they all line up facing the same direction makes one wonder what do they know is coming from that direction?

I do like gulls... and the Aussie Silver Gulls are so delicate compared to the hulking great Herring and Black-backs round here!!! YAM xx

  16. I find black and white photos always look more artsy. Gulls are pretty ubiquitos where I come from Newfoundland and Labrador. Their calls can still take me back.

  19. With gatherings of gulls, it's very hard to spot any oddish looking ones. I've spent many an hour ......
