Larapinta Trail - Sections 1 to 3

This is the first of a few post about my recent walk along the Larapinta Trail.  The Trail runs (more or less) east-west starting (or ending) at Alice Springs and ending (or starting) at Mount Sonder about 230 km later!

The whole trails runs through the West MacDonnell Ranges - Tjoritja - National Park.  We took 15 days to walk from Alice to Sonder.  I think I'm still processing a lot of what I saw, felt and thought during those two weeks.

These pictures show just how varied the walk is - valleys, ridges, and long, long views.

For reasons I do not comprehend, the images have loaded in reverse order! The final image is from day 1 and the first from day 3.

Hope you enjoy.  SM

Oh I say, well done, Stewart! I have only done a few klicks at the Alice End, having no time for the whole. Always intending to go back... and life getting in the way of plans. Any long walk has many effects upon us. It is country with incredible beauty and a real feeling of history and age of earth. YAM xx

  2. What an achievement. Carrying enough water fir one day's walk must have been a feat in itself. Terrific scenery which must be unique to the area.

  6. Interesting landscape. Others have also complained that Blogger is loading pictures in reverse order. I have started loading my lead photo first and then making a space under it before I load my other pictures. Blogging seems to get harder instead of easier.

  8. Kolejna wycieczka z fajnymi widokami. Dla mnie to całkowita egzotyka, jak z filmów.
