Cameron Trading Post, Arizona.

This is the place where I found the stones from this post.

This is less than a mile from Cameron Trading Post, on Route 89, north of Flagstaff.

It was a remarkable landscape - and I actually think that the poles and signs in the last two images add rather than take away from the strange feel of the place.

As ever, these will better when you click on them.

You can find more skies at Sky Watch Friday.   Cheers SM.

  5. Excellent captures! Love the cloud cover that looks like it could touch the ground. Reminds me of outback Australia.

  6. I'm from the southwest. I miss seeing the horizon. Living in Florida, unless I drive down to the Glades, there are always trees smack dab in front of me. Oh...miss the mountains in the distance.

  9. What stunning panoramic shots. All those stones on the ground. Amazing...and the sky...it is out of this world. I love how you were able to capture so perfectly the swishing feel of movement to the clouds. Wish I had seen it all for myself. You photos have been one fine substitute.

  23. Hi Stuart M,
Awesome photos of what seems a stark landscape.

I'd always thought the way the Sky reflected Australia was a vibrant blue, but the Sky's reflection of Arizona is a very intense blue.
    Awesome to photograph I'm sure.
The landscape is full of rich, stark contrasts.
    What a wonderful experience.

Thanks so much for visiting. Deeply appreciated.
